What's New, Scooby Doo? * Biff Barksdale ** Grimbor > In the episode "3-D Struction", in the last few minutes, Heather Lane is exposed as a baddie by those meddling kids, and in a blinkie marched off in cuffs after a quick grabbing to dissuade her from bolting. She's attired in a skirt and top, accessorized with a scarf tied rakishly 'round her neck. Daphne seems to have misplaced hers for this new entry in the Hanna-Barbera cash cow ... a shame. In the episode "Big Scare in the Big Easy", it's dejá vu all over again. Daphne gets grabbed by the ghostly goonies (this isn't shown), then is discovered in a crypt in a New Orleans cemetery by Dumb and Dumber, all tied and gagged just like in the day. She's sporting a lavender over to match her outfit, with wrists roped behind and more wrapped 'round her upper torso. Vocalizing at no extra cost. The scene begins around 24 minutes in, and is relatively brief. In the episode "Toy Scary Boo", around 16 minutes in, Freddy and Shaggy discover Mrs. Gordon in a backroom of a toy store, bound to a chair with jumpropes and tapegagged. She's a middle-aged woman. >> "Recipe For Disaster" Following the crumb trail of the Scooby Snacks Monster the gang hear a cry for help and find factory manager Penelope Bailey tied to a swivel chair (hands behind her, ropes around her waist and her ankles tied together) in her office and she tells them she was overpowered and bound by the monster. At the end of the episode there's a flashback to her tied to the chair shot from a different angle as Velma does a voiceover explaining she knew Penelope was lying because there were no traces of crumbs on her clothing. No scenes of her tying herself up to trick the gang. >> "A Terrifying Round With A Menacing Metallic Clown" In a brief scene at the very end of the episode the missing golfers (a guy and two young girls) who were supposedly eaten by the robot clown are found by Scooby stashed inside the mini golf range's prop model castle and sitting on its floor bound and gagged. Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? (the cartoon, not the game show) aka Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? * Grimbor I only saw it once, and by pure chance (unless this is loaded with captures), there happened to be a capture scene in which the two teens (a blond boy and red-haired girl) were tied up back to back. Good stuff, but didn't last long. They contacted some guy that they work for, and he asked "are you a little tied up?", but they had it under control. > Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? "Birds of a Feather" After one of the commercial breaks there a brief scene of Ivy bound to Zack and their Brazilian guide. Everyone's tied together back to back while sitting down. Then Ivy gets them loose and they're off to stop Carmen getting whatever it was she came to the rainforest to steal. "The Tigress" Carmen Sandiego follows her mysterious rival The Tigress to Antarctica only to find that it's a trap and the Tigress is Ivy. Surrounded by arctic cops Carmen is arrested and handcuffed and taken to a transport plane where Ivy and Zack join her to gloat. But since the cops handcuffed her hands in front of her she is able to grab a pair of boots with built in jets and fly out of the plane's hold to escape once again. "In Memorium (Retribution part 2)" Carmen (and Zack) has her neck and wrists locked in stocks in a trap at a colonial village re-creation. Ivy sits in lower stocks with her ankles locked but her hands free. Carmen has to put up with tourists mocking her and stealing her hat until Ivey gets loose and releases Zack. She also frees Carmen since they're working together against a common enemy. "Trick or Treat" Zack and Ivy are hunting for Carmen on Halloween and spot her ducking into a costume party. They can't get in without a costume so they split up to get changed. After acquiring a Captain Chicken costume Zack spots Carmen and knocks her down from behind and holds her pinned to the floor while he begins to tie her up. Then his sister appears but she turns out to be Carmen dressed as Ivy and the woman on the floor is Ivy in a Carmen costume. Carmen escapes before Ivy can get untangled. The Wild Thornberrys * ComicMan16 > Hi! Here's a scene from the Wild Thornberrys! In the episode, The Trouble With Darwin, Eliza the girl who can talk to animals tries to rescue her friend Darwin who was captured by poachers, Eliza finds the poachers and tries to radio for help, but if captured by the poachers herself! The poachers put her in the back where the animals they have as well as Darwin. Eliza is tied up with rope wrapped around her body, pinning her shoulders to her sides, legs tied as well and gagged with a gag over her mouth. Darwin asks Eliza what they are going to do and Eliza mumbles through her gag that she want someone of the animals to chew through her ropes. A boar that's behind her chews the ropes off and Eliza takes her gag off. WinX Club * Biff Barksdale ** Grimbor > "Junior League" (episode 11) About two minutes in, the gang discovers Tecna in Flora's closet, bound and gagged with the vines of one of the latter's experiments. It's a brief scene, but she's shown in closeup with vocalizing and struggling. "Miss Magix" (episode 12) The witches are rigging a beauty pageant with their magic. Around 19 minutes in, a contestant juggling light rings finds herself suddenly bound and gagged in them in a very brief scene. Her arms are to her sides. A couple of minutes later, she's still in her predicament as the winner is announced. Mostly she's in the background. Another contestant, who I suppose was engaging in a kickboxing demo, is seen likewise in background with the laces of her gloves tied together, binding her hands in front, along with a third young lady mummied from head to toe in bright blue save for her eyes. >> "Witch Trap" An attempt by the other four WinX Club girls to rescue Bloom from an attack by the Senior Witches doesn't quite work out as planned as they find themselves magically bound in midair (ropes from waist to chest) and trapped between 2 tornados on a collision course. They're saved when the witches are distracted by an illusion cast by good witch Muerta (who gets turned into a pumpkin for interfering) and their bonds dissolve. "Royal Heartbreak" Bloom has her arms bound to her sides by a magical ring thrown by another girl by WinX powers. She's able to power up and break free. "Date With Disaster" The girls discover Stella has been abducted and replaced by an imposter (unfortunately that happened between scenes) and the real Stella is caught in a magical trap. She's floating in midair surrounded by rings which contract and bind her limbs to her body as a prelude to squeezing her until she bursts (to quote the witches) unless Bloom surrenders Stella's magical staff. Bloom does and the Witches dissolve the rings so the now unconscious Stella crashes to the ground as the witches flee with the staff. "Senior Witches Go To Earth" Bloom has given up on magic school and returned to her hometown on Earth but the senior witches have followed her so she returns home one night to find her mother & father bound back to back by magical ropes and hovering in midair. The witches then try to drop them into a dimensional hole in the floor but Bloom saves them. Though this uses up enough of her magic that they're able to freeze her spreadeagled in a block of ice with only her chest and head free. With Bloom trapped the witches finally explain who she really is and why they've been after her all season then drain her buried Dragonfire power. With that done Bloom faints and the witches depart and when she regains consciousness her parents have melted her out of the ice. "The Final Battle" Having lost the big showdown against Bloom the three Witches are briefly seen at the end of the show being escorted into a portal to the realm where they'll be imprisoned with their hands manacled behind them. Icy is the only one to bother with a parting threat that they'll be back next season "Queen Of Perfection" (season 2) At the end of the previous episode Layla was pinned to a cavern wall by a web spitting monster. The scene repeats at the start of this episode and Layla begins shouting that the webbing is acidic and beginning to burn her so Prince Sky stops staring down the cliff that Brandon and Stella plunged down and pulls her free. Meanwhile Brandon and Stella land in an underground river and after a harrowing few minutes Brandon gets the unconscious Stella to shore only to be knocked out by a pair of underdwellers. When he wakes up he's tied to the back of the smaller sentry while the larger one drags a stretcher on which the semi-conscious Stella lies bound with rope from her waist to her shoulders. There's a few shots of her and a bit of dialogue but the focus is on Brandon as he tries to convince the underdwellers that they're harmless. As they're both untied when Stella wakes up, after we've cut away and checked in with the rest of the cast, it seems he succeeded though there are further complications ahead. W.I.T.C.H * Mog ** Grimbor > Episode #2 "It Resumes" This is an animated series based on the popular books. Near the beginning of the episode, team leader Will is captured offscreen. When she's seen again, she is in the castle of the evil Prince Phobos, who wants the magic amulet that gives her powers. Her hands are clearly seen tied behind her back. When she tells him she doesn't have it (which is true, as her backpack was left behind) he wraps her up in rose covered vines in an effort to coerce her. The scenes don't last very long however. When she's next seen, she's tossed unbound into a dungeon where she remains until her friends rescue her. Keep in mind that this originally aired as an hour-long special with the two episodes airing as one. So it's possible that these elements could be in the first one, although I doubt it. >>Episode #5 "A Service To The Community" Having overslept Cordelia gets the least wanted assignment on the school's list of "Volunteer" public service and is assigned to read to a class of hyperactive kids that includes her younger sister. When next seen she's tied to a chair while the kids decorate her face but is taking it in stride since she got a worse assignemnt the previous year. Witch Hunter Robin * Biff Barksdale > In the episode, "Loaded Guns", around 17 minutes in, Robin comes home to find her roommate Toko Masaki (voiced by Mela Lee) bound and gagged with black tape as part of an ambush. She's kneeling on the floor with her ankles and wrists taped behind her around a lamp post. The black ops team lying in wait for Robin opens fire from the balcony behind Toko, hitting her. No blood or wounds are shown, but her last appearance in the ep shows her in the hospital on a respirator. The sequence lasts about two minutes.
