Tarzan & Jane In Disney's direct to video sequel to the animated Tarzan movie Jane is kidnapped by her visiting fiance, a dashing pilot who turns out to be a double agent looking to retrieve the cipher machine he hid in the music box he gave Jane. Jane tries to run into the jungle with the music box but slips, falls and is overtaken. When next seen she's sitting in the passanger seat of her fiance's biplane with her wrists tied in front. Naturally Tarzan pursues leading to a fistfight aboard the plane which crashes into a river but not before Tarzan frees Jane. With the crashed plane on the verge of being swept over a waterfall and Tarzan occupied holding the plane back from the edge Jane faces falling into the plane's propeller. Fortunately her fiance saves her for old times sake despite the heroism ruining his escape plans. Teamo Supremo * Biff Barksdale > In the episode "The Sinister Stylist", about eight minutes in, a trio of beauty contestants is seen seated roped together on the stage by the eponymous villain and her gang. At the end of the segment (this airing contained two eps), around 12 minutes in, she gets a taste of her own medicine at the end of Rope Girl's lasso. The first scene lasts all of two seconds ... the second contains several shots. Also, each show opening offers a glimpse of a woman attired in suit and hat bound together with a number of nefarious male colleagues. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (80s version) * Lard 69909 ** Grimbor April gets tied up a lot, so many times I can't really remember a specific scene. And, Irma (who I like better than April) got captured once and was tied up with April over a vat of chocolate. And there was one episode where that kid Zach introduced to us a friend of his, a girl. Soon in that episode, two villians captured them and tied them up on chairs, barefoot, and began to tickle their feet. > On an episode titled "April Fools Day" April is mistaken for a princess at a costume ball, and is captured by Shedder. He gags her, and runs around with her for about the last five minutes of the episode. There is another one which is the first apperence of the Rat King in which he b&g April and takes her to his lair in the sewers. >> Shredder's New Sword April and Irma interfere with Shredder's theft of Excalibur and get captured. They're seen briefly sitting next to one another in wooden chairs in the Tower of London. There are ropes around their upper bodies and April's ankles are tied. Shortly afterwards Shredder unties them (offscreen) so they can watch as the Turtles & Merlin are tossed into the Thames Rives with ropes around them from shoulders to ankles and weights attached to their feet. A few minutes later after the turtles save themselves April and Irma reappeared briefly tied up the same way the turtles were but without the weights as they become the prizes in a joust for possession of the sword. When they're next seen they've already been freed. "Turtle Tracks" In the first episode April O Neil is grabbed and handgagged by three foot ninja robots while trying to use a phone booth. The turtles follow the trail that's left and find April on a rooftop tied to a chair with a lot of rope around her upper body surrounded by foot ninjas.. No gag but she doesn't talk until the rescue scene and her feet are free. After they've destroyed the robots the Turtles cut her free. "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles" April is grabbed by Shredder and Baxter Stockman and forced into a chair with manacles on the armrests. Once locked in place she's gagged and Shredder contacts the Turtles with April's communicator. They can't see her and she's gagged but far from silent and Michelagelo says he recognises her mumbles. After the Tutles escape Shredder's trap they track down April and Leonardo tells her to hold still and cuts the manacles off with his sword then April ungags herself. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) * Grimbor ** Zorro > "Lone Raph and Cub" Raphael is helping Tyler, a kid on the run from the mob find his reporter mother. With the turtle temporarily blinded by a flash grenade Tyler's leading the way and he spots his mother tied to a chair through the barred window of a warehouse. Later, after Raphael has beaten the crap out of the Hulk sized mob boss, he picks the lock on a door with his Sai then gets out of the way as the door swings open to reveal Tyler's mom still tied to the chair. Tyler dashes in and starts to untie her and one quick change of scene later they're running out of the room together. Meanwhile Raphael regains his eyesight and makes sure the mobsters won't follow them. She's tied to a chair with ropes around her torso with her hands behind her. Her ankles are also tied. >> "New Blood": This episode has a quick "blink and miss" scene, but towards the middle of the episode, Karai, Shredder's female second-in-command, is fighting three large andriod versions of herself, and one of them has a chain. For a few seconds, the chain is wrapped around her arms, binding them to her, and she is thrown to the ground. It only lasts a few seconds. "Time Travails": Probably the best scene in the series so far. In it, the time-travelling Renet has an adventure with the TMNT in England, circa 1406. About halfway through the episode, she is captured by the villian, a satyr named Salvanti Romano, and taken to his castle by his dragon. After the Turtles go off to rescue her, we see her seated in a chair, bound rather well to it. Her hands are behind her, and there are ropes around her arms, body, thighs, and ankles. This scene runs for several minutes. The next time we see her, she is still tied to the chair, but the ropework has gotten a lot shoddier and now its just some turns of rope around her body in zig-zag patterns. Leonardo quickly frees her, but so far this has been the longest scene this season (and the second chairtie). Teen Titans * Biff Barksdale ** Grimbor > "Sisters" (1.2) Before the opening credits, kawaii Starfire (voiced by Hynden Walch) is whisked off a ferris wheel by a flying pink octopus-like looking thingie which wraps its tentacles around her upper body. After the credits, she manages to free herself from its grasp. About sixteen minutes in, another drone grabs her atop the roof of a club, but this scene consists of a couple of blinkies shown mostly in silhouette. After the gang bests a passel of them varmints, a pair of gendarmes from another planet arrive and bind her with green glowy tubular bands. Her arms are wrapped up, with her wrists pressed to her chest, and her mouth is sealed, with resultant muffled vocalizing. It's a fairly lengthy scene. Finally, her sibling Blackfire (Walch again), the actual perp, is bound in the same coils for her trip to the hoosegow, her arms pinned to her sides. "Masks" (1.9) About eight minutes in, the gang's adversary resorts to his "X marks the spot" strategy, hurling a large red version that pins Starfires arms to her sides, and a petite variety that seals Raven's lips. After this quick scene, around 14 minutes in Raven's shown still gagged back at the lair. She impatiently indicates that she'd like to be able to speak again, and Cyborg indelicately does the honors, leaving her lower face emblazoned with a cross across it and her upper visage displaying a smoldering glare. "Mad Mod" (1.10) At the very beginning, Starfire, Raven and the guys are clamped into high-backed chairs for their "school day" at Mad Mod's lair. Their wrists are secured to the chair arms, and their legs to the legs of the chairs. Star is later freed by Robin. Raven shows up later unrestrained. About 16 minutes in, Raven is briefly shown with her arms pinned by Beast Boy's tentacles in his octopus form. Soon after, Star gets her arms clamped and spread apart in a quick scene. Finally, all but Robin end up back where they started, chairbound, until the Boy Wonder short-circuits the villain's power supply and they're able to bust out of their bonds. "Fear Itself" (2.5) About three minutes in, Raven (voiced by Tara Strong) has her arms pinned to her sides by a string of video cassettes under the sway of Control Freak (a fanboy type who can make the inanimate dangerously mobile). Shortly after, Starfire (Hynden Walch) is similarly fettered by oversized video cables. In this same scene, which lasts about three minutes, Raven is later enwraptured with videotape, fully mummying her for a couple of seconds before she magicks out of her predicament. Meanwhile, Robin bops the cable creature and releases Star. Around 14 minutes in, another grabby monstrosity takes a hands-on approach with Star. Finally Beast Boy, experiencing an anxiety attack, morphs into an octopus and likewise gives both Star and Raven a hand, or rather, a tentacle, for thirty frames or so. The sequence ends about 16 minutes in. "Bunny Raven, or ... How to Make a Titanimal Disappear" (3.11) At the very beginning, The Amazing Mumbo is in the process of robbing a bank. Having secured all in attendance, he toys with a female teller, at one point pulling a coin from her ear, who's bound with ropes or some other agent around her upper torso and gagged snugly over the nose. During this scene one and possibly two other female employees/customers are seen in the background bound hands behind but not gagged. Mumbo also briefly pins Raven's arms and legs with bands of some sort. About seven minutes in, Starfire's legs are thoroughly wrapped in chains attached to a heavy weight, again briefly. >> "The Sum of His Parts" Mumbo the Magician makes his cane magically extend and hook Starfire then casts a spell to lock her into a floating magic cabinet with only her head and feet unenclosed so he can attempt to saw her in half. Since he says he no idea how to do it properly it's a good thing cyborg interupts him. "Aftershock part 2" Terra is lassoed by Robin and hauled off her floating rock. She gets loose from them but the rest of the Titans keep pounding on her. "Deception" Jinx gets grabbed by metal tentacles in HIVE Academy's testing rooms along with Gizmo & Mammoth and is about to be zapped until Stone (a disguised Cyborg) severs the tentacles from their bases. They're left lying helpless on the floor still wrapped in the coils but Stone unwraps them so they can complete the team exercise. "X" During the first fight with the new Red X he pins Starfire to the wall with an X but while she can't get free she zaps him with her eyebeams. During their second battle he uses an X to bind Raven back to back with Beast Boy who's in the form of a rhino. He changes back after Raven complains about having her head stuck next to a rhino's butt but they're still stuck together. Later Raven is glued to a wall by a red spray that covers her totally as a mad scientist takes advantage of Robin and Red X's duel to collect the other Titans. We see them later coated with a white substance that makes them into statues and sealed inside transparent tubes. Starfire manages to break the coating covering her head but her body's still immobilized and she can't get out of the tube. Like the rest of the Titans she's helpless as the scientist begins shooting up his lab to try and take out Robin and Red X though Robin eventually frees them all off camera. "Titans East part 2" Bumblebee and the other East Coast Titans are seen strapped to lab tables as Brother Blood prepares to attempt to turn them into cyborgs with the survivors programmed to obey him. They aren't struggling since they're under his mind control but Bumblebee begins to shake it off so Brother Blood uses his hypnotic gaze on her again and she asks him to proceed with the operation. The West Coast Titans break into the lab and Blood frees "his" Titans to battle them. Near the end of the show Blood's mental powers are holding everyone except Cyborg immobilized and floatinging overhead. After Cyborg defeats him they're all freed. >"Mother Mae-Eye" (4.11) About 17' in, Starfire's (voiced by Hynden Walch) enwrapped in red ribbon for about a minute, with a couple of blinky shots of her gagged with a bar of soap. Around the 25' mark, she and Raven (Tara Strong) are encircled with thick red yarn (?) around their upper torsi. Shortly after, they're shown very briefly entangled in "Mother's" knitting. >>"The End" In part 1 of this 3 part season finale Starfire is briefly bound and gagged by a fire deomon's flaming tentacles before blasting free. In part 2 the manifestation of her dark side holds her arms behind her back painfully as she brags how Robin will now be hers. This energises Starfire to break free and boot her evil self into the ground. Tenchi Muyo * Austin 899 ** Biff Barksdale > Ayeka and Ryoko are always fighting over Tenchi. They work together to make Mihoshi(who also has a crush on Tenchi)go back to the Galaxy Police. But then Ryoko double-crosses Ayeka. The space pirate ties up the princess of Jurai. Ayeka has rope wrapped from her shoulders to her ankles. (But not completely covering her) She is detective gagged and her own hair is used as a makeshift cleave gag. >> In the episode: "No Need for Partners", Ryoko is bound in thin light bands by Kiyone around 15 minutes in. In episode 24 "No Need for Ryoko", Ryoko's arms and legs are briefly ensnared by tubular bands at around 20 minutes in. In episode 17 "Drifting Away", Ryoko is grabbed by the tentacle-like restraints of several Galaxy Police robots. She breaks free, but is then held on the ground by a slew of 'bots. Around 15 minutes in, if I recall correctly. In episode 21 "Real Friends?", in the first few minutes, Washu quickly puts her hand over Ayeka's mouth, resulting in a nice surprised expression. Around 20 minutes in, Yugi is ensnared in roots, and sealed in a crypt to end the destruction her power has caused. In episode 2 "Here Comes Ayeka", around 20 minutes in, Tenchi very briefly puts her hand over Ayeka's mouth just after she awakens. About 23 minutes in, Ryoko's snared and suspended in vines. Bonus: Before these scenes (possibly between 5 and 15 minutes in), Ryoko's restrained for a bit by some form of invisible energy from Ayeka's ship. Her upper arms are pinned to her sides, legs together. Nice imagery. In episode 5 "Kagato Attacks!", Kagato imprisons Ryoko in a giant hourglass. She's covered in its blue sand up to her shoulders. The scene ends around 27 minutes in... I'd guess it begins in the last quarterhour. The Batman (2004-2005) - see "Batman (2004)" Thundarr the Barbarian * Bob Nielsen ** Terakonn *** Grimbor > HOW can you ignore(or, maybe nobody has been smart enough to send anything) two of the greatest cartoons for captures in the '80s?!? "Thundarr the Barbarian," with sexy space princess Ariel(SP?) - there was this one episode where Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla were chasing this vampire spider creature, and it shot its webbing at Ariel just as she was about to cast a spell, of course binding her wrists and rendering her powerless until she figured out how to break the bonds. Then, later, as they searched for the spider vampire, it shoots a webline down, wrapping around Ariel's waist, then hoisting her up. Ariel got bound a LOT in that show. I only thought it should've been more, because it shouldn't have taken a rocket scientist to figure out that if Ariel's wrists were bound, she was helpless. Oh, well. >> In the Thundarr episode with the web-spinning spider creature, when it sends down a loop of webbing to wrap aroun Ariel's waist, & pulls her up, it completely coccoons her, & Thundarr & Ookla chase it for quite a while, with Ariel slung over it's back. She is later shown stored in it's lair, among other coccoons, & she somehow manages to use her magic to disintegrate the coccoon. Earlier, there is a quick scene with a young woman in a heavy parka, ambushed by the creature, & quickly wrapped in webbing. >>> The spider episode is entitled "The Stalker from the Stars" Another episode worth noting is "Valley Of the Man Apes" Ariel, Thundar and Ookla are tied to stakes by the Man Apes who leave them as food for a fire breathing dragon. Thundarr and Ookla break free and leave Ariel tied to her stake while they fight the dragon which doesn't surprise the long suffering princess too much. Fortunately Ookla remembers her and lets her loose a bit later. "Island Of the Sorcerer" Since Ariel can't perform magic when her wrists are bound it was a fairly common occurance on this show. In this episode 3 sailors Thundarr, Ariel and Ookla have befriended are transformed into frog creatures by the Sorceress Sersee. One of whom uses his very long tongue to bind Ariel's wrists together when she raises them to cast a spell then carries her off into Sersee's castle. Inside a dungeon Ariel hangs by her wrists inside a metal hoopl while the aged sorceress Sersee plots to take over her body and succeeds. When Thundarr arrives to free Ariel it's actually Sersee in Ariel's body he rescues. Fortunately he ignores "Ariel's" call to destroy Sersee since he needs to make her transform the sailors back and she escapes so she can switch her mind back to her own body just before the closing credits "Last Train To Doomsday" Gemini's magic makes a chain wrap around Ariel and Okla binding them back to back. It then begins dragging them into an ancient carwash which has been magically transformed into a death trap because the water jets now shoot flames. After a no holds barred battle with their greatest enemy Thundarr is able to drive him off and douse the flames in the nick of time. The Tick * Grimbor > In the episode "Bloomsday" visiting botanist Professot Ichibana is tied to a wooden chair with vines under the control of El Seed. She is initially gagged by a large leaf wrapped over her mouth but later on El Seed removes it so he can kill time talking to her while waiting for his minions. Once they're back he leaves the professor tied to the chair with a fast growing woman eating plant sprouting. Fortunately the Tick arrives before she gets too chewed and rescues her. In "The Tick vs Pineapple Pokopo" patriotic superheroine American Maid is clamped into a metal band and lowered towards a pool full of sharks. Thanks to some well timed leg swings she avoids the hungry fish until the Tick "Hangs 10 for Justice!" and arrives in the nick of time. Tico of the Seven Seas AKA Tico and Friends Main character Nanami, a girl, is taken away by two men while her hands are bound behind her and she is gagged. She is thrown into a prison cell while still tied, but manages to get into a sitting position whereupon she reaches up with her bare foot to pull her gag down. She then stands up and leans down so the whistle she is wearing around her neck could come within reach. She then blows the whistle with her hands still tied. Tiny Toon Adventures Since there is one human girl in this (Elmyra), I just wanted to mention that occasionally, since she is obsessed with animals, that the animals sometimes have to tie her up in order to escape from her. There was one scene in which she was tied up lying on her stomach by Buster Bunny while he tried to get away from this animal-loving freak. All the time, Elmyra just whined that her bunny got away and didn't bother to try and free herself. Someone else added that Babs Bunny is tied up all the time, but I forget who told me that. Besides, I already knew that, I just wanted to list mostly humans. Todd McFarlane's Spawn * Lard 69909 > In one episode Spawn's ex-wife's daughter is kidnapped by the mob, then only to be re-kidnapped by child-killer Billy Kincad. The whole time she has her hands tied behind her, and blindfolded. Later, she has a gag added with the blindfold. Then in the climatic car chase she is in the back of an ice cream truck, minus the blindfold and only gagged. Lots of MMMMPPHH-ing there. Tom Slick In one episode, Marigold was captured by Baron Automatic and tied to railroad tracks (arms at sides). Tom managed to avoid hitting her. In another, Marigold got captured again and was tied up with the ropes of some parachute belonging to the opponent's hot air balloon. Totally Spies * Biff Barksdale ** Grimbor > In the episode "Stuck in the Middle Ages With You", at around 12 minutes in, Sam and Alex are netted, then shown chained by their wrists in a dungeon. They free themselves with gadgets after the commercial break. At about 17 minutes in, Clover is seated in a high-backed chair with her wrists clamped to the arms and her neck chained to the back of the chair. Around 21 minutes in, Clover, in a medieval gown, is chained arms apart. Around 24 minutes in, Sam covers Alex's mouth to quiet her as guards pass by. Just after, they free Clover. Whew... that's a full workin' day, lad. And don't you forget it. In the episode "The Eraser", the spies are restrained rather imaginatively with metal fetters which loop above their elbows and under their knees, with a link to the collars 'round their necks ... such that they're seated hunched over on the floor, around 21 minutes in. Continuity problems are an annoyance ... sometimes the collars are there, sometimes they aren't, Alex has hers on in one shot while Sam and Clover are bare-necked, the links don't show until the last shots... In the episode "The Fugitives", about two minutes in, Clover has a quick mental image of Mandy wrapped in rope on the train tracks (she's vexed, you see). Around 21 minutes in, Alex is briefly has a hand placed over her mouth, and Sam is grabbed... then they are restrained wrists behind for about two minutes, until the commercial break. In the episode "Abductions", Alex is captured by the bad people and seen about 19 minutes in suspended upside down in a cylinder, her hands behind and presumably bound. The cylinder fills with some sort of goop, covering her upper torso, before the other girls arrive in rescue mode. In the episode "Silicon Valley Girls", all three girls are grabbed and held by metal tentacles, arms pinned, around 27 minutes in. In the episode "Queen for a Day", Clover is impersonating an Arabian queen who's the target of a kidnapper, and taken instead. Around 13 minutes in, she's heard yelling as she's abducted just before the break. When the episode resumes, we see her being carried off over the shoulder of an evil minion. A couple of minutes later, she's seen stashed in a crate, wrists bound behind and animé-style overnosegagged. The gag's removed rather quickly, but she remains restrained until the others come to her rescue around 21 minutes in. In the episode "Shrinking", a downsized Clover's captured by baddies and clamped to a wall, the shackle around her shrunken upper torso. This pops about 20 minutes in. The others find themselves similarly situated about a minute later, although in full size and sitting (Clover's standing). Clover frees herself with a hidden laser thingie around a minute after Alex and Sam are fettered, and frees her compatriots. In the episode "Aliens", around two minutes in, the girls are grabbed around their torsi by tentacled claws rising from a car engine and transported to HQ to meet with Jerry. Seconds-long scene. Around 22 minutes in, Alex is cuffed for a few seconds before picking the lock. In the episode "Wild Style", about two minutes in, the spies are dumped into a sort of roller coaster car rocketing to HQ. The bar across their chests keeps 'em nice and secure 'til they reach their destination. At around 18 minutes in, Sam puts her hand on Alex's mouth twice within about a minute. Soon after, all three are netted. Alex and Sam are then suspended by their wrists face-to-face. They manage to escape, but end up recaptured and bound back-to-back by rope 'round their lower torsi about 26 minutes in. In the episode "Spy Vs. Spy", around 20 minutes in, the girls are shown bound arms-to-sides in a giant mechanical spider's web. A relatively lengthly scene which ends in a brief cocooning, which doesn't fit the girls' forms exactly. A few minutes later, Alex gets tangled up (again arms to sides) in some less imposing webbing fired from a weapon, and ends up hanging upside down. Finally, a trio of young women who were being mind-controlled into baddiness are bound seated back-to-back-to-back by cord in a brief scene. In the episode "Evil Boyfriend", all three spies are initially trapped in nets, their arms pulled behind them, at around five minutes in. They're brought before the head baddie still held but netless right after. The sequence lasts a minute or so. Around the 26' mark, Sam and Clover are mistakenly arrested by Secret Service agents at the White House. They're cuffed (presumably) back-to-back and seated on a hallway carpet. The scene lasts less than a minute. In the episode "A Spy Is Born", right at the tail end of this ep, Sam and Clover wonder about Alex's whereabouts. When they check the visual communicator, they're confronted with the image of her bound to a chair. The device is then crushed under the heel of her unseen captor. In the episode "Passion Patties", about two minutes in, Clover has a quick (couple of seconds) vision of Mandy, her high school antagonist, bound to a rocket and blasted into the wild blue. Around the 20' mark, the girls are shown strapped into reclining seats (one strap over their arms and below their chests) and force fed the addictive cookies the villain is using to take over the world, or whatEVER. Clover has been hooked for a while, and her waistline shows it. The scene lasts a couple of minutes or so. In the episode "Soul Collector", about 17 minutes in, Alex is grabbed by the arm and pulled "off camera", later to be seen slung over a baddie's shoulder in an un- or semiconscious state. Sam and Clover are grabbed soon after. Sam is hugged from behind, and Clover is shoulder-carried. The diabolical deathtrap scene follows. Something involving a giant gemstone. All three are bound wrists behind and suspended in a gravity-defying manner. The suspension rope is attached to their wrists, yet they remain upright. A literal definition of a suspension of disbelief. Sam has a Swiss army knife in the heel of her boot, naturally, and cuts Clover's bonds. The trio descend comically, and we it ends around 22 minutes in. In the episode "Do You Believe in Magic?", in the course of battling Mr. Evil Magician Guy (or whatEVER), Alex is captured (not shown). She *is* shown chained arms apart and blindfolded in a dungeon cell at around 19 minutes in. Sam and Clover free her, only to wind up in yet another Diabolical Death Trap (TM). This time it's the old reliable Swinging Blade Being Slowly Lowered (c), as the three lie chained on a slab below. They escape in the Nick O' Time, thanks to some spy toy doohickey or other, about 22 minutes in. In the episode "Ice Man Cometh", around 20 minutes in, the girls are shown held by Evil Minions, their wrists pulled behind their backs. A relatively lengthy scene. In the episode "Man or Machine", a couple of cuffed scenes: About two minutes in, the girls are manacled wrists behind by a mall security guard after Mandy accuses them of skating and littering. They're in rollerblading attire. This scene lasts about a half-minute, ending when they're spirited away to WHOOP HQ for their briefing with Jerry. Around 17 minutes in, the villain du jour cuffs them in front and loads them into a giant top ride in an amusement park. After fifteen rotations all go boom. Lipstick gizmo saves the day. The sequence runs for approximately three minutes. "Stark Raving Mad" About 13 minutes in, the gang is grabbed by Sebastian's baddies at one of his mind-controlling raves. Sam has her wrists bound by her own braided hair, Alex has her baggy pants pulled up and the drawstring tied around her neck, and Clover has her cap pulled down over her head (cartoon suspension of disbelief required). They are then carted off (literally) while bound with rope around their torsos and ankles to serve as an audience for the villain's de rigueur explanation of his fiendish plan. The scene lasts a few minutes before they are jettisoned from the setting. Lastly, in a quick sequence, Clover, now in her spysuit and under the nefarious influence of the music, has a pair of high-tech earmuffs tossed at her by Jerry to counteract its effect, with the band effecting an overgag. This comes in around 24 minutes in. (Grimbor gave another description of this episode in his section) >> "I Want My Mummy" Searching Egypt for a missing archeologist, while accompanied by his assistant Ian, Clover and Sam become separated from Alex and Ian. Encountering an underground tunneling machine they find it crammed with stolen artifacts along with the mummified Alex and Ian. The wrappings don't cover from forehead to nose or fingertips. As soon as they ungag them the missing archeologist appears revealing himself to be the villian of the day and activates his mummification machine to wrap up Sam and Clover. Though we only actually see CLover getting wrapped. Everyone winds up all wrapped except for their faces and fingertips with their arms in the traditional mummy folded cross the chest posture. After the commercial break we find all four outside in a sandpit while the archeologist explains he faked his own disappearance to steal an artifact which will combine with two others to give him absolute power, make him like unto a god, yadda, yadda, yadda. He then leaves but not before staring a pipe that pours sand into the pit to bury everyone alive. Fortunately Sam remembers their lipstick lasters which they can just reach and aim (remember the uncovered fingertips?) and fuse the sand into glass clogging the pipe. With the immediate threat ended out heroes can wriggle free of their bindings. How exactly they did that we'll never know since the scene cuts to everyone inside the archeologist's abandoned tunneling machine about to go into hot pursuit. Almost forgot, at the start of the episode Mandy irks Clover and once again Clover has a revenge fantasy. This time it's Mandy standing in front of a target with rope from her hips to her shoulders while Clover picks up a car and throws it at her in a "Hulk Smash!" moment. "Mommies Dearest" Tim Spin, the girls' enemy from "The New Jerry" breaks out of jail and brainwashes their mothers (who all look and act like older but not necessarily wiser versions of their daughters) while they're all staying at a health spa for Mothers Day. After a few weird "accidents" (leading a brief shot of Clover's mother Stella tied up with a hairdryer cord) the girls realise their mothers are trying to kill them. The girls are driven off the road and knocked unconscious in the crash by their mind controlled mothers. Alex wakes up to find her mother bending over her and figures it was all a weird dream. Then realises her hands are tied behind her back and that Alex and Sam are sitting on a nearby table tied the same way and guarded by their mothers. Tim reveals himself and says that he's got used to having devoted servants so he's going to keep their mothers. Then he orders their mothers to take Alex, Sanm and Clover for their last sauna and the mothers obey. The scene then cuts to the girls locked in a sauna set for maximum heat but for some reason their hands are free. Since they weren't on a mission they don't have any gadgets so they figure they're doomed but the bubblegum Alex picked up at WHOOP HQ saves them when the bubble expands enough to break down the walls. "The Yuck Factor" In this episode Jerry is literally mind controlled by a minaturised scientist residing in his brain. Sam, Clover and Alex figure out something is wrong with Jerry but assume they're dealing with a guy in a mask so their attempts to pull off his face and unmask him convince the WHOOP agents that they're all nuts. So no one thinks anything's wrong when agents controlled by the scientist's minions drag them away. Cut to the lab with the shrinking machine where all three spies are sitting with their hands tied behind their backs. The scientist gives them the usual rundown on his world domination plan then has mechanical arms deposit them under the shrinking ray so he can minaturise them and finish them off with test tubes full of bacteria. As curved triangular segments of glass rise from the floor to form a dome around them Alex redeems herself for her squeamishness earlier in the episode with a gymnastic move that slides her hands down and over her legs, then with her hands now in front she cuts the wrist bonds on one of the rising dome segments. She frees the others but the dome seals and the ray fires before they can escape. However now Sam can use the lab computer as they shrink to get them a micro transport unit so they can take the battle to the scientist inside Jerry. They win though the inside view of their boss is hard on the weak stomached Alex. "It's How You Play The Game" The girls discover the secret of the biological implants that are giving Zanzibar's team the Gold in every event of the Winter Olympics but blow their cover. Captured by the evil team coach the girls sit roped together as he explains his nefarious plan for total olympic victory for Zanzibar (which is pretty low key compared to the world conquest and/or destruction plans they usually foil). With his star skater suffering terminal side-effects from her implant he picks Clover as her replacement and gives her three of the buglike implants which crawl under her hair to enter via the ear (ick). Incidentally Clover once again is the only one to suffer bizarre physical side-effects and bulks up from her implants. The scene cuts to an outdoors scene, Sam and Alex are sitting in a dog sled with their hands tied behind their backs. Clover is told that the dogs are trained to keep going until the coach radios a command so if she wants him to call the team back so her friends don't freeze in the Alps she'll co-operate. Then the dogs are sent on their way carrying Sam and Alex away. Their attempts to distract the dogs fail but Sam tells Alex to use the credit card knife to cut their wrist bonds. Unfortunately a bad bump sends the knife flying, cuts the dogs' traces and sends Sam and Alex skidding onto a lake covered with thin ice which cracks under them. The girls seem headed for a watery grave but Alex frees herself and drags Sam back to the surface then unties her. The pair split up, Alex to save Clover, Sam to save the dying skater. Needless to say both succeed. "Here Comes The Sun" The girls spend a minute or two tied to chairs aboard the yacht of megalomanical Sunblock 10,000 saleswoman Sunny Day while she regales them with her "use laser to destroy the ozone layer and boost sales" spiel. After a good gloat she orders her henchmen to get rid of the spies and the scene cuts to the goons leaving the girls in a sinking dingy with no oars in shark infested waters. Curiously the bad guys have been nice enough to untie the girls so that they can plug the hole and make their escape by using the thrust from Sam's Hurricane 3000 Hairdrier to drive the boat. "Boy Bands Will Be Boy Bands" For a change it's Alex rather than Clover who has a revenge fantasy about Mandy. Hurt at being called uncool "Cowgirl" Alex imagines roping and tying Mandy rodeo style. Later after an encounter with a face swapping former boyband looking to replace the latest hot group (and why the heck couldn't the girls just punch out those four clowns?) they wind up sitting in a tour bus with their hands behind their backs. But while the captive boyband members has very obvious ropes we have to assume that the girls are bound until just before they escape when there's a quick flash of Sam's tied wrists as she burns through the ropes with her lipstick laser. Before that happens Clover gets a break since this time it's Alex who gets the latest weird physical morph as her face is swapped for an aging groupie's. Then everyone's left on a runaway bus but they make the usual nick of time escape before it goes over a cliff. "I, Dude" The girls are captured by the beach bunny minions of The Dude, former surfer supreme turned tsunami creator. Incidentally since they grabbed the girls in Antarctica and all the beach bunnies wear are these steel armour bikinis (which you don't usually see outside of pulp sci-fi covers and fantasy comics) those bunnies have remarkable cold tolerance. Anyway having explained his nefarious plan to restore surfing to its glory days by wiping out all the beach resorts which are ruining the best surfing beaches The Dude has his bunnies strap the girls down under an ultra powerful sunlight to broil them to death. Clover blasts the light with her explosive press-on nails and frees Sam and Alex. Outnumbered by the beach bunnies the girls use their WOOHP issue super stick hair gel to glue the bunnies' feet to the deck of The Dude's sub then set out to stop the tidal wave heading for Venice Beach. Needless to say they save Los Angeles and their favourite shopping malls. "Alex Quits" Because she's been blundering more than usual and because they've been joined by rookie WOOHP agent Britney on their latest mission Alex figures the writing is on the wall and quits before she can be fired. Which means that it's Clover, Sam and Britney who get zapped with the molecular augmenter and shifted into slow motion making it easy for the speed obsessed villain to grab them. The trio are tied back to back and left sitting across the room from a bomb that's set to blow in ten minutes. Their feet are free and all they have to do is cross the room and push a button to disarm the explosive. The problem is that in their molecularly slowed state they'll be lucky to get halfway there in ten minutes. Fortunately Clover manages to signal Alex who rockets to the rescue and after interpreting what the slow motion trio are saying deactivates the bomb just before it blows. Thanks to a science make-up test she knows how to return the others to normal so the foursome can go catch the bad guys. Incidentally Britney was only with the group to do the fieldwork that completes her training. She was never intended to replace Alex and is sent off to her new posting once the day is saved. "A Spy Is Born Part 2" The show picks up where part 1 left off with Alex tied to a chair and being menaced by crazy film director, Luminere. Alex tells him everyone will be looking for her and he says he's counting on it and gags her. Meanwhile Sam and Clover arrive at WOOHP to report Alex's disappearance but Jerry has already received a message from Luminere in which he challenges the spies to find him by a series of rhyming clues if they want Alex back. As he talks the gagged Alex can be seen struggling and heard mmphing in the background. Near the end of the show they find Alex sitting on a chair with her hands tied behind her. She's no longer gagged but can't speak because the chair is balanced precariously on a ledge at WOOPH HQ and the only thing keeping her from toppling backwards is the rope held clenched between her teeth. Sam and Clover realise Alex can't hold on much longer but if they open the door the rope is attached to it'll swing outward and soon as the rope goes slack Alex falls off the building. With no time to find another way they decide to rush the doorway and grab the rope hoping Alex can hold on until they pull her back from the brink. It works except the rope has been gimmicked and breaks. Alex plunges backwards and Sam and Clover follow her down. They manage to catch up to her then the scene cuts to Jerry dashing down the side(!) of the building so he can leap into Luminere's helicopter and overpower his pilot. While this has been happening the girls have untied Alex and equipped her with an inflatable crash suit so everyone survives the fall and Alex's movie career is over. "W.O.W." Brief scene of two female wrestlers with their arms tied to their sides by Clover's climbing rope. "Stark Raving Mad" Curious about the fact that they're the only ones at school not being invited to the new raves which are trashing their favourite hangouts the girls put on rave gear and crash the mall rave. At which point they find out the drawbacks of rave fashion as Sam's wrists are tied by her new braids, Alex winds up bagged to the neck by her new baggy pants and Clover is blinded by her toque. The girls are trussed up more conventionally and dumped in a shopping cart which is pushed into an elevator where it overbalances as the doors open and they find themselves facing their old enemy Sebastian (from "A Thing For Musicians"). It seems having broken out of jail he's decided to put world domination on the backburner while he uses his mind control technology for personal revenge on the spies. He gives them a quick rundown on his plans which have been using their classmates to destroy every place they care about though his Hyper Raves. Then he triggers a a giant spring underneath them and the girls go flying. Don't ask me how but this somehow causes their bonds to disappear in midair so they all crashland free. Realising their school is the next target they head there to stop Sebastian but get zapped by the mind control music. Fortunately Jerry arrives with headphones that neutralise it and manages to get them on all three rampaging spies. There's a brief shot of Clover gagged by the headphone band and that's it for this episode scenewise. "Starstruck" Sam, Alex and Clover wind up shackled by their ankles and hanging upside down after they sweet-talk Jerry into sending them on an unofficial mission to search for the missing hunky heart throb of their favourite soap, "Spies of Our Lives." It turns out that he was kidnapped by a demented fan of the show who believes that it's real and he needs to be saved since he's been brainwashed into believing he's just an actor. Unfortunately since Clover's undercover role on the show is the main villain's daughter that makes them the fan's enemies. While the girls were handling this situation with professional calm that ends when they realise that they're hanging upside down over a pool of piranha fish. As they start to lower towards the pool Clover protests and is told that since she's the daughter of the arch fiend she deservers something worse and waldos strap her to a table for a Goldfinger style slow slicing apart by a laser. The fan leaves to wipe out the rest of the show's villains and since this is an unofficial mission the girls are short on gadgets to use for escape. Sam gets the idea of Clover nodding hard enough to throw her mirrored sunglasses into the laser to temporarily deflect the beam. Clover's reluctant because of how much they cost but the approaching laser convinces her and the deflected beam slices through Alex and Sam's ankle ropes. Some fast gymnastics by Alex keep her and Sam from falling into the piranha pool then they manage to turn off the laser in the nick of time and free Clover. After that they save the day again but the chaos they cause on the set means Clover's part is written out so she's still waiting for her big showbusiness break. "S.P.I." Suspicious about the super efficient Special Protectional International group which has driven WOOHP out of business Sam infiltrates their headquarters. She finds the evidence but can't convince Clover and Alex that it's not sour grapes at which point the ceiling tiles give way under her and she crashes into a bad guy's board meeting. Clover and Alex drop by SPI HQ looking for Sam and spot her comm-pact just after the boss claims never to have seen her. Realising she is exposed she has her minions expose Clover and Alex by using a clothing shrinking ray on them. All three spies (Sam the only one in uniform) are next seen tied to the chairs in a G Force simulator. A pretty lame tying job since their hands are freed so even with the G forces Alex is able to get out and aim her laser lipstick (When WOOPH shut down Jerry let them keep their gadgets as souvenirs) knocking out the simulator's control panel. The spies successfully board the villainesses plane and Sam ties her to the pilot's seat with the belt then heasd out onto the hull to fight her minions. They win but the plane goes into a crash dive as the villainess decides better death than prison and uses her feet to shove the contol yoke forward. They subdue her but can't pull out of the dive but a giant net from a revived WOOPH helicopter catches them without any ill effects. Which may be impossible but as Sam observed earlier in the episode, "Ever notice the ways we get WOOPHed sometimes violate the laws of physics?" "Animal World" Brief blink and you'll miss it shot of Alex getting wrapped up in her own rope after a failed attempt to lasso a lion on a moped. No, I'm not going to explain that. "Evil Hair Salon" The show opens with a red-head taking a free treatment at a hair salon during which shackles lock her wrists and ankles to the chair. The title screen means we don't find out what happened to her until Clover takes the same treatment. After the customers are manacled to their chairs the chairs drop through trapdoors onto a tunnel with train tracks. The chairs now have wheels and are linked together like train carriages as they rush off down the tracks. After their rescue attempt fails Sam and Alex trace the missing girls to London where they find they're now strapped to bulky wheelchairs with fluid filled glass tanks on the back into which their hair trails. These tanks are accelerating hair growth so that the mad scientist/wig maker can harvest all the genuine human hair she needs. The process is having a life draining effect on the "donors" and CLover's not looking good. Sam and Alex wind up strapped to their own wheelchairs but Alex's hair is too short to reach the tank so she retains her faculties and is able to trigger a lockpick built into spy suit's heel. Meanwhile the chairs and the victims have been taken to the harvesting machine on the top floor. After freeing herself and picking the locks on Sam's straps ALex and Sam set out to rescue Clover. But they wind up outside and after their grappels fail to grab onto the building Clover has to play Rapunzel so they can climb up her ten story long hair. Which looks rather painful. Anyway to create the diversion Clover needs to do this she asks the red-head who got abducted at the start to help her save everyone. Which she does by somehow gettting free of her chair so that the wig makers goons have to grab her and ignore Clover. How she was able to free herself without gimmicks, training and while half dead from the hair growth treatment remains one of the show's many mysteries. "Zooney World" Things go wrong after the spies infilitrate the underground headquarters of the Zooney World movement and run into an army of brainwashed kids. Shot by a tank's taffy cannon first Clover then Sam and Alex wind up glued to the walls and easy prey for the kids. We next see the Spies tied to posts on a firing range about to be hosed until they've swallowed enough water to "explode". At least that's how the young commander of the Zoonies phrases it. Fortunately Alex has held onto her Ice Queen perfume and uses it to freeze the ropes around her wrists then break the now brittle bonds. She frees her ankles then releases Sam and Clover. They then use the supercold perfume spray to freeze and shatter the metal headbands the kids wear to keep them brainwashed without ill effects on the children proving that once again WOOHP's technology is superior to the physics of heat transfer. "First Brat" The girls get stuck babysitting Madison, the 11 year old daughter of the American President while Jerry's off on a fishing trip with her daddy to talk about a job in the White House. Problem is that Madison turns into a real brat when her father's not around and the media's not watching her. So Sam and Clover are quite happy to let her lock herself in her room and if it hadn't been for Alex's sympathy for her growing up in the spotlight making her turn bratty they wouldn't have tried to get in and would have completely missed her kidnapping. Madison is carried off by a giant robot spider strapped to its underside by metal bands. It escapes the White House grounds with no one except the girls seeing it so they're the only ones who know she's been kidnapped and they decide to keep it that way since their failure to watch her would destroy Jerry's hopes of a presidential appointment. A ransom note arrives via Madison's computer and she's seen briefly with her hands tied behind her. The girls head for the Washington Monument where the kidnapper shows them a monitor displaying Madison sitting in a closet gagged and with her hands tied behind her. When the kidnapper realises the girls are bluffing and haven't brought the imprisoned mad scientist to exchange for Madison she grabs the girl from the storage closet and flies off with her via jetpack. The girls track Madison and the kidnapper to her usual nanny's house (she called in sick) only to discover that she's the kidnapper and the mad scientist she wants released is her husband. The girls get locked in a cage whose bars sprout spikes and as it begins to shrink. Madison (now ungagged) protests and is gagged again and carried off so she can be used to threaten her father in person. The spies escape and steal the nanny's helicopter arriving just after the kidnappers arrive by boat and lower the bound and gagged Madison into the lake water to her neck and threaten to drop her if her daddy doesn't stop fishing and free the scientist. With her sons captured by Sam and Alex the wife flees with Madison by speedboat but Clover drops in and punches her out. Unfortunately Clover's wrong in thinking she's knocked out and winds up with her arms pinned to her sides by a life ring. But an expert cast by Jerry lands the wife and makes her the catch of the day. The show ends with the spies getting honoured in the White House in front of the press which you'd figure would blow their covers but they're still secret agents in the later episodes so you have to figure nobody they know watches the news. "Nature Nightmare" The Spies encounter genetically engineered trees that grab people with their roots then weave them into cocoons to feed on them. Alex gets separated from the others and grabbed, cocooned and eventually freed off screen but Sam and Clover get onscreen cocooning. First though Clover is grabbed by the roots and nearly pulled through the window of the house they've retreated into until the flame sensitive roots are scared off by Wade (the guy/reporter whose disappearance they were investigating) and his matches. After retreating downstairs and discovering the lab of Dr. Rasputin Zero, the conservationist who gave the forest the power to fight back, Sam, Clover and Wade are grabbed by roots and cocooned. But Clover manages to keep an arm free and uses her buzzsaw barrette to cut her own cocoon down. The impact cracks it open and she cuts down the other two. Wade stays behind to hold off the roots while the girls head off to save Alex and the other victims from the Queen Tree. "Ski Trip" Dr. Gelee, who tried to freeze the world in "The Iceman Cometh" and selected Clover to be his Ice Queen, returns but grabs Mandy by mistake (hand gag scene). Once he realises she isn't Clover he uses her as bait and the Spies reluctantly set off to save Mandy. They find her tied to a chair in a remote cabin (wrists tied to chairback, legs free) but once they step inside they find their feet frozen to the floor by Gelee's icetrap. Gelee appears, steals their gadget filled backpacks and explains that the heavy duty snowmakers about to fire on the cabin will bury them alive and if they survive that they'll quickly freeze. Fortunately Clover palmed her laser lipstick before Gelee took their packs so she's able to melt the spies free and cut Mandy's ropes so everyone escapes the cabin in the nick of time. "Fashion Faux Pas" Trying to track down their old enemy Helga Von Guggan (from "Wild Style") the spies fall into a trap and wind up standing with their hands cuffed to a an overhead pipe. All three are wearing their spy suits and Mystique fashion accessories which they tried on and can't remove (Clover has a stole, Sam a hat and Alex boots). Helga reveals that she created the Mystique logo to get revenge on the fashion world for abandoning her after that human fur coats scheme. Mystique wear cannot be removed and on command will begin to shrink crushing the wearer. Helga activates the Spies accessories then heads off to do a live TV show in which she will revael herself as the inventor of Mystique and activate all her fashions. In a move surprisingly clever for an evil genius she leaves her sidekick behind to watch the Spies and make sure they don't escape before they get squished. Luckily Clover manages to distract him and Sam uses a gadget to free herself and disable him then free the others. The spies then escape Helga's HQ and manage to save themselves and the studio audience from Helga's revenge. "Toying Around" A toy designer's AI equipped war toys decide to emulate the movie "Small Soldiers" and steal more AI chips and other war toys to expand their army as the first step in world conquest. They outdo the movie by taking three female hostages (namely Sam, Clover and Alex) along with their designer who was trying to stop their rampage. The soldiers string them up above land mines and leave them while they head off to take over the United Countries Building as the next stage in their plan. The foursome manages to swing to a platform and dislodge the rope but the platform collapse dropping them in the mine field. Luckily no one lands on a mine and they tiptoe out of the minefield just in time. The spies head off to the UC to find the toys tying gagged male and female delegates to their chairs (we don't see too many of them). While Sam and Clover battle the toys Alex frees the delegates. Eventually Sam gets the bright idea of burning out the Toys AI chips with one of the gadgets Jerry gave them back at the start of the show. "Physics 101 Much?" Captured by the gravity manipulating Major Snell who is bitter about having been abandoned in space for 20 years the girls are tied to the three rockets of the satellite he's launching to bombard the earth with his anti gravity beam. Evidentally the rockets have great insulation so no heat reaches the spies or the ropes so neither burns but the G-forces and lack of air are sure to be lethal. Sam's able to bend so that her ropes get the full brunt of the air friction and burn through. Once she falls free she activates her jet pack and flies back to free Alex who then frees Clover. "Evil Coffee Shop Much?" Clover, Alex & temporary team member Mandy (wearing a purple spy suit) wind up tied back to back (by ropes around their waists binding their arms to their sides) and being lowered into a giant vat of coffee. While Mandy just complains a lot Clover and Alex manage to save the day by swinging their legs so they swing to the side of the vat and Clover grabs onto a girder with her legs. The other girls then trigger the repulsion feature of Mandy's suit (used to clean off their own costumes earlier in the show) blasting her away (to a comedic crash in a huge pile of coffee grounds) and breaking the ropes. "Forward To The Past" Having travelled back to 1975 the spies are caught by one of young Jerry's prototype WOOHP gadgets, an 8 track tapeplayer that fires a tape reel that binds them back to back by wrapping them from waist to chest. Once Jerry's left BG, the disco crazed time traveller, hauls them up to dangle below a giant disco ball then explains his evil plan to rewrite history before lowering them to suffocate in the world's thickest shag rug carpet. Fortunately Alex grabbed Jerry's mini nuke mood ring though her attempt to cut them free slices the rope they're dangling from and drops them into the carpet. Luckily she's able to blast the carpet from the inside and explode it which looks a bit painful but is survivable. "Super Nerd Much?" Sam & Alex are knocked out by former class nerd Arnold who thanks to a magic ring can absorb coolness. When they wake up they're stuffed into giant bags with only their heads free that Arnold calls super pocket protectors. The already nerdified Clover is also stuck in one of the bags as Arnold uses the ring to absorb Sam & Alex's coolness. While he heads off to drain Beverly Hills the nerdified girls escape when Sam uses her nailfile to cut herself free. "The Incredible Bulk" Thrown backwards by an accelerating moving floor the girls find themselves pinned inside upright weight benches. After the evil bodybuilder reveals his evil plan to bulk up his competitors to the exploding point he tells them they're in for the same fate and clamps pull their mouths open so a robot can begin stuffing the doctored bulk-up bars inside. Fortunately the girls have been exercising their smile muscles and are able to pull the clamps hard enough to break them which causes the whole mechanism to short out thus freeing them. "Dental, More Like Mental" At approximately the 17 minute mark Clover and Alex are netted in midair by the mad dentist as they try to flee from the brainwashed Sam (she was dragged away by a brainwashed nurse with fangs at about the 12 minute mark and now has a smile so bright it causes blindness) and his other dentally mutated minions. The scenes cuts to the dentist's lab with Alex and Clover sitting on the floor, their ankles tied and their hands bound behind them by ropes from waist to chest. Both have cloth gags across their mouths but without packing inside so they're muffled but not silenced. The dentist explains his evil plan then leaves Sam to deal with them. She starts by shooting Alex with an anesthetic prior to dental surgery which kills the pain of her toothache so she becomes clearheaded enough to palm the laser nailfile, slice her ropes and knock Sam out. She picks up a rope and leans down as we go to commercial at the 18 minute mark. Back from commercial we find Alex is just finishing tying the unconscious Sam the same way she was tied minus the gag and in the background the still bound and gagged Clover is protesting about Alex dealing with Sam before freeing her. Alex cuts her free and they contact Jerry who sends them an antidote to the brainwashing gas. The gas revives Sam who asks, "Where am I? What happened? And more importantly WHY AM I HOGTIED ON THIS NASTY, DIRTY FLOOR?!" So they cut her loose and go after the dentist. "Escape From WOOHP Island" The girls are sent to WOOHP's prison island to retrieve Brittney (Alex's temp replacement from "Alex Quits") who crashlanded there before the island explodes. At approximately the 13 minute mark the girls get netted and the scene cuts to them strapped to operating tables in a mad plastic surgeon's island. Sam palms the laser nailfile and begins slicing her straps but the surgeon grabs it and destroys it. However it turns out she's cut the main strap enough to get free and KO the surgeon. The girls sneak out but hear "mmphing" and at about the 15 minute mark discover Brittney strapped to a another operating table and gagged (wide cloth gag). They unstrap her and head for the beach and the show goes to commercial. Unfortunately a few minutes later it turns out that Brittney is really a disguised Willard (the villain from "Alex Quits") and he's got the real Brittney locked in a large cage but otherwise unrestrained. "The Incredible Bulk" About 19 minutes in, the team finds themselves entrapped in exercise machines which pin their arms, legs and heads. The villain of the piece, a maniacal former bodybuilder, gloats a bit and then sets a robot on them to force-feed them the energy bars that have been causing other beefcakes to pump up and freak out. As he does so, mechanical arms sprout from the machines and hook into the corners of their mouths, prying them open to receive the unholy treats. Fortunately, they'd previously engaged in some smile-enhancing exercises, and are able to use their bulked-up jaw power to discombobulate the machines and escape (I didn't write it, I just report it). The sequence lasts about ninety seconds. "Super Agent Much?" Sam and Alex are grabbed by mechanical man eating plants and struggle while wrapped in their vines as Geraldine explains her evil plan. Fortunately Geraldine decides to have her cybercat finish them off instead of just having the plants squeeze or swallow our heroines and they're able to escape while the plants and the cat fight over them. Later in the show they're both frozen in place while running away by Clover's freeze gun but Sam's able to more her hand enough to fire the gizmo that KO's Clover so Jerry can turn her back to her old self. Since the freeze ray is long lasting Sam and Alex travel home still frozen in place hanging from cables below a WOOHP chopper. "Power Yoga Much" The Spies are rolled up in heavy rugs and put on a conveyor belt into the Chi Machine which will brainwash them into becoming servants of a whacked out Yoga Master. The Spies manage to swallow extra spicy gum to make themselves slippery enough to squirm out of the rugs but while Clover and Alex escape Sam's high tolerance for spicy foods means she can't work up enough of a sweat to get free and gets brainwashed. Before CLover and Alex can unwrap her she calls for the guards to capture the nonbelievers and they have to flee. Later on the brainwashed Sam takes on Jerry in a martial arts duel but he manages to knock her off the telephone wires where they're fighting. She lands in the back of his car where straps automatically wrap around her and hold her until she can be returned to normal. Incidentally earlier in the show Mandy was abducted and carried off so she can be brainwashed and return as a formidal adversary for the spies which leads to their capture. "Truth Or Scare" At the very beginning of the show celebrity Gisela is abducted by her driver when the seat of her limo sprouts wrist manacles and a hose pops up to hit her with gas. About ten minutes later Alex is mistaken for Rockstar Jackson Johns and abducted the same way in a train. Sam and Clover find Alex locked inside a glass cage with her arms held against her side by tape wrapping. Taken offguard when the truth gas zapped Alex reveals how they're planning to attack Sam and Clover wind up wrapped together the same way and on a conveyor belt leading to a printing press while the villain leaves with Alex to take him through WHOOP security. While trying to roll away from the press Clover snags a bundle of magazines with her foot and kicks it overhead into the press. The explosion lands them below a papercutter which lands exactly right to free both of them. Meanwhile at WHOOP the still bound Alex watches Jerry and the villain fight and Jerry lose. Sam and Clover arrive and Alex is able to clue them in to how to win after which she finally wriggles free of the wrapping. "Head Shrinker Much" Captured by a mad paleontologist the girls are tied back to back and hung over a lava pit. Leaving them to lower slowly to their doom the villain leaves and the girls think fast. Sam has a super hairdryer that'll fly them away from the pit but she can't reach it with her hands bound. Alex has picked up a flint and gets to work on the ropes and cuts through as they're just about to go into the pit. Sam grabs the hairdryer as they fall and Clover & Alex hang on as she flies them to safety. "Evil Promotion Much" In Part 2 of this three parter the girls get stuck inside a giant pink plastic cube which only seems to hamper their movements rather than immobilize them. It doesn't last long but in Part 3 the Spies and Jerry are blasted against a wall by an airjet fired by double agent Dean then pinned to the wall when Jerry's evil twin brother fires spikes that nail their clothes to the wall. They're stuck in this situtation for several minutes while the villain explains his vendetta against Jerry and outlines his master plan. He heads off to destroy WOOHP leaving Dean to dispose of the Spies. Unable to move or reach any gadgets they're helpless as he takes aim. Fortunately Dean's really a triple agent and his gun pulls the nails out of the wall and frees them. Trigun * WayCool104 ** Biff Barksdale > (Episode 1) The $$60 billion man: When Meryl and Milly get caught and strung up by bounty hunters who are after Vash's $$60 billion bounty, our hero frees them in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it rescue scene. They are tied up hands behind, ropes around waist, hanging under a stone arch, for about one minute prior to that. (Episode 4) Love & Peace: Our two insurance ladies are captured again, this time by bandits who have kidnapped the town mayor's daughter for ransom. The women are tied hands behind, ropes around torso, next to another guy, and Vash himself soon joins them. The insurance ladies and the men are seated on the floor of the tavern, the mayor's daughter is suspended from the ceiling. They stay that way for a good portion of the episode, and during that time, Vash is not above trying to sneak a peek under the daughter's dress!! Great scene. (Episode 18) Goodbye For Now: By now the series has swung towards it's more serious side. In this episode, a young teenage girl gets kidnapped by thugs, and Vash must save her with the help of Wolfwood, another gunman, but first he must solve his own personal dilemma. The scene is very brief, we only see her for a moment through a window, tied by the wrists and held by a pudgy gangster. (Episode 19) Hang Fire: The two insurance ladies are once again on the trail of Vash the Stampede. They are aboard a sandship when they are caught and held prisoner along with the other passengers on board. The both of them are tied in their nightgowns, hands behind and ropes around upper bodies. They manage to subdue their armed guard while still bound, and subsequently escape. Another great scene. (Episode 21) Out of time: Part 2 of a two-part episode. This episode has lots of plot twists and revelations, and again I will try not to spoil too much. A childhood friend of Vash gets captured by the Gung-ho Guns, who have invaded a spaceship that orbits the planet. She is later found by Wolfwood, tied and gagged in a brief scene that lasts a few seconds. (Episode 24) Sin: The last scene in the series. The insurance girls get captured by townspeople under the mind control of Legato Bluesummers, leader of the gung-ho guns. They are tied hands behind, ropes around torso. Legato has the townspeople torture them both in a final attempt to force Vash to "come to the dark side" (pardon the Star Wars reference). There is a brief flashback of this episode in the following episode. >> Episode: "Out of Time" Around 21 minutes in on of a CARTOON NETWORK airing, Jessica, who has been replaced with an android, is discovered lying on the floor bound and overgagged. The scene lasts all of about three seconds, and she is shown only in a head-and-shoulders shot. The Triplets * Anonymous > This show for preschoolers about three young girls who keep being sent into classic stories had a scene in it. In one episode, when the girls entered the story "Robinson Crusoe", they were captured by cannibals (and this is for preschoolers?!). They were tied to poles, hands behind the pole, wrists crossed, and later seen barefoot. They were tickled by the cannibals, but then rescued by Robinson Crusoe. How...strange sounding. Treasure Island - Two of the triplets are tied sitting near a post by Long John Silver and his pirates. Their hands are tied behind them as they sit at the posts. They are gagged so they can't warn Jim Hawkins that he's walking into a trip. After that Jim joins them at the post as they are all tied to it by a rope wrapped around all three of them, but they are ungagged and stay that way. Their remaining sister trades a fake treasure map for their freedom and they're untied. Atlantis - The closest thing to an actual peril scene on this show. One of the triplets dives into the ocean to retrieve the watch she dropped but while on the ocean floor she gets kelp fonds tangled around her legs and can't get back up for air. Her sisters dive down and free her before she can suffer any ill effects. I missed the title of this last one but I'd guess either "King Arthur" or "Camelot". This time it's not the Triplets but the rotund Queen Guinevere who gets tied by Sir Modred and threatened with being pushed off a tower if he doesn't get a getaway horse. The triplets become a pantomime horse and Modred can't tell the difference from the tower so he walks into their trap.
