The New Adventures of Captain Planet * Biff Barksdale In an episode dealing with gangs, one gang kidnaps a boy and girl (the boy is a planeteer) and ties them back to back to a chair. They don't stay tied for long, though, soon they combine their powers and Captain Planet appears. He cracks jokes about not wanting to be a "pane" but seeing a "window" of opportunity as he rescues them. Because the house is burning, he doesn't have time to untie them right away until after he gets them out of the building, and so they are still tied up until after the Captain uses his goofy powers of nature to put out the fire, and then he tends to the kids. In another episode, Ma-Ti was tied up, with rope wrapped around him, pinning his arms to his sides and his hands tied behind his back. Later, Ma-Ti was seen tied up sitting down, hands behind back, arms together, feet together, and gagged. > "Hollywaste" (5.2) Dr. Blight's (voiced by Mary Kay Bergman) movie-star sister Bambi (Kath Soucie) is playing the role of Linka in a film about the Captain and the Planeteers. About 19' in, Bambi is shown bound hand (behind) and foot and overgagged in her trailer's bedroom, gloated over by the Bad Doctor, who plans to take her place on the set, in a scene of less than a half-minute in length. Around the 27' mark, her nefarious scheme having been foiled, our villain is seen being led away with her hands cuffed behind her. Both women are wearing copies of Linka's clothing: T-shirt, vest, shorts and sneakers. The New Adventures of Superman * Biff Barksdale > In the episode "The Ape Army of the Amazon", about three minutes into the segment (a portion of an episode), Lois is captured and bound to a pillar in a temple. She is over-nose gagged as well. A giant ape statue slowly slides across the floor towards her, but she's saved in The Nick of Time by some guy in a red Speedo. The sequence lasts about a minute. The New Batman/Superman Adventures (see also "Superman the Animated Series") * Lard 69909 ** WayCool104 *** Biff Barksdale **** Austin899 ***** Grimbor > In the three part "World's Finest" team up between Batman & Superman, part two has a nice long scene with Lois Lane, bound first to a chair, and detective gagged. Then she is suspended from the ceiling and gagged as well. Then Luthor's bodyguard (a female) is taped up to a robot and gagged in part three. >> In the episode: "My Girl"; Lana gets married to Lex Luthor, but later finds out about his criminal activities and helps Superman to stop them. She is found out by Lex, who arranges for her kidnapping. The kidnapper takes her to some steel production factory where she is tied hands behind and ropes around torso, and placed inside a steel mold on a conveyor belt, faced with the threat of being melted alive. Naturally, Superman shows up to save her at the last second. She's wearing a black evening dress (nice). >>> In the episode "Cold Comfort", about 18 minutes in, while infiltrating Mr. Freeze's lair, Batman places his hand over Batgirl's mouth to prevent her from making a startled noise. Just after, the duo discover a trio of scientists, one female, bound and tapegagged. They're bundled up in parkas against the cold. In the episode "Animal Act", about 17 minutes in, Miranda Kane, an animal trainer and old friend of Nightwing's from his boyhood circus days, is attacked by a python under the control of the Mad Hatter. The snake entwines itself around her legs and up her body, finally forcing her to the ground. This occurs over a ten-second span before the fade to commercial. After the break, she's free, but not out of danger. >>>> In the episode "Unity" this alien force called Unity invades Superman's home town. In this lab, two doctors and Supergirl's adopted mother are controlled by "Unity" and they shout out these tendril things from their mouths which wrap around Supergirl and gagged her, and almost mummifing her. And she gets wrapped up those tendrils twice in the episode. It's one scene you got to see. >>>>> "Fish Story" Lois Lane winds up sitting in the back of truck with her hands tied behind her opposite Aquaman. Thugs take them out of the truck to shoot them but Aquaman summons seagulls which attack the thugs and grab the keys to his cuffs while another gull pecks off the ropes around Lois's wrists. New Captain Scarlet *Grimbor A CGI animation remake of the sixties supermarionettation series. >In the 3rd episode "Swarm" Skybase is invaded by a swarm of insectlike robots. They're seen creeping around the quarters of the sleeping Serena/Lieutenant Green and when next seen she's hanging trapped in a green coccoon that covers everything except her face while the bugs tap into her memoires to find their way to the reactor that powers Skybase so they can overload and detonate it. She asks Captain Blue to kill her before that happens but he refuses and the bugs get the info. Fortunately Captain Scarlet saves the day and when next seen Serena's out of the coccoon and back on duty. >In the 5th episode "The Homecoming" Lieutenant Green finds out her long lost father is a Mysteron replicant when he uses her as a hostage to hold off pursuit until he can seal them both inside an experimental anti matter reactor complex. He uses tape to tie her hands behind a metal rod then taunts her with the details about how her father died before setting the reactor to overload. Captain Scarlet gets into the complex and handgags Green so she won't get startled and alert the replicant before he begins untying her. Scarlet has just freed her when the replicant attacks and with Scarlet weakened by radiation exposure it falls to Green to finish off the Mysteron and shut down the reactor. >In the 9th episode "Skin Deep" Destiny Angel is abducted by Captain Black and reappears apparently under Mysteron control. Except it turns out that the evil Destiny is a mercenary whose face has been changed to Destiny's. The real Destiny is lying on a couch in a plastic surgeon's office tape gagged and with her hands bound behind her. Captain Scarlet traces the fake Destiny to the doctor's office but is distracted by the sight of a second bound & gagged Destiny in Captain Black's clutches. When he regains consciousness Black kills the fake Destiny who is reborn as a Mysteron slave and explains why he didn't just kill the real Destiny (sitting bound and gagged on a chair) and use her. The fake Destiny is now a living camera who will ensure that Scarlet plants Black's bomb in Skybase. If her refuses Black will not only kill the real Destiny but turn her into his personal slave for the rest of his immortal life. If Scarlet obeys he'll free her. Scarlet fakes destroying the base killing the fake in the process and Black unties Destiny. But he's not keeping his word, just gloating before transforming her. But this time he's not sneaking up behind her when she's off guard and she kicks his ass and escapes. Good "mmphing" by the tape gagged Destiny. The Nightmare Before Christmas (Animated Movie) * Biff Barksdale > About 65 minutes in (without ads) Sally (voiced by Catherine O'Hara), trying to save Santa Claus from Oogie Boogie, is herself captured and bound atop a slab next to some evil-looking hellmouth thingie. Before they slide off into it, Jack comes to the rescue. Sally is bound shoulders to ankles, arms at sides.
