The Magic School Bus In an episode dealing with "trappers" (animals who lay traps for other animals), there are two scenes. One is with Ms. Frizzle, the teacher, getting totally wrapped up in web by a spider (and apparently enjoying it, she is smiling and giving a lesson the whole time!). Later, one of the students, Pheobe, tries to capture a man with spider web, but accidentally gets it wrapped around her upper body (but not her head), pinning her arms to her sides and her legs together. As the kids pile out of the bus later on, Pheobe hops after them, and then trips and lands on her face and can't get up. Kinda brief, but considering that this is an educational cartoon on PBS, I was certainly surprised to see the scenes! A Man Called Flintstone (movie) * BondoFox > During an early musical number, there's a fight scene with Fred Flinstone and a villian, in the foreground is a woman who looks very much like Wilma (different hair color, they must see the same beautician) tied to a chair, hands behind her back, and over-the-mouth gagged. Martin Mystery * Grimbor > "Eternal Christmas" On Christmas Eve while looking for missing motorists Diana Lombard & Martin Mystery investigate a strange town which looks like a scene from a cheesy Christmas card. They are accused of interfering in the perfect Christmas planned by the town's mayor and the scenery turns nightmarish and comes to life. Daina and Martin are grabbed by the branches of an evil Christmas tree then black out and wake up to find themselves tied up with strings of Christmas tree lights and on a conveyer belt leading to a giant mixing vat where they'll be turned into ingredients for a gigantic Christmas Cake. Martin frees himself by using his Q-watch's laser knife then fires the Turbo Bungee Grapple to drag himself and the still trussed up Diana to safety. "The Beast Within" Recurring character Jenny is completely wrapped and stuck to the wall in a transparent coccoon by the possessed Martin. Diana and Java suffer a similar fate except their coccoons only cover them up to their necks. Diana begins shouting that the coccoons are contracting and going to crush them and Java manages to break free only to be glued to the floor by Martin/Gastromo before he heads for Center to take over MOM. Don't ask me how Diana & Java get free, there's a scene cut and Diana & Java are out and checking Jenny's okay despite being unable to use any gadgets or Java's strength. Either there was an escape scene which was cut for time or they figured no one would notice the continuity glitch. "Attack Of The Mothman" The Dean of Paris University is dragged off by the Mothman and briefly seen hanging from a tree in a coccoon before he flies off with her during the ad break. Later she's found in a forest alongside a missing (male) scientist, again in a coccoon though this one's transparent and filled with some sort of fluid. The Mothman attacks before they can free either and Java and Diana wind up cocooned except for their faces. Diana struggles intensely and manages to get an arm free but then the angry Mothman returns and things would have gone badly if Martin hadn't intervened. "Summer Camp Nightmare" Attacked by robed cultists Diana, Martin and Java wake up in a boathouse coccooned in transparent wrappings. Martin and Java break free but Diana can't until Martin goads her to get her angry enough to shred the coccoon. Diana hears the two girls she was looking after being carried off (brief shots and angles wrong to see if they were restrained) and steps outside only to be sprayed by a lizardman with a new coccoon. She's carried off and isn't seen again until Java and Martin fight their way past the lizardmen and sneak into the crashed UFO where they find the still coccooned Diana mutating into a lizardwoman. She breaks loose once the transformation is complete but reverts to normal once the alien is destroyed. "Zombie Island" Searching for the missing Diana on Fantastic Island (guess what they're parodying) Martin and Java find her and a young couple who went missing at the start of the show bound by wrists and ankles to X shaped crosses on a ledge overlooking the beach. From left to right it's Diana, then the guy, then his fiancee. Anyway on the beach zombie high priest Mr. Roach is transforming the last normal maid of the resort into a zombie with the fluid created by the sea monster Hexon. Diana tells him she won't be transformed so easily but Roach says the three of them aren't there to be transformed as it's Hexon's dinner time. Before Hexon can chow down Martin reaches the ledge while Java fights off the zombies and unties Diana. Hexon throws the zombifying fluid at them but Martin deflects it with the Q-Watch shield but while it protects them the other captives are unprotected and splashed. Still tied to the crosses they transform before Martin and Diana can free them. While our heroes run the other zombies untie the zombified couple who join them in hunting the escapees but it all ends happily with Martin figuring out how to change everybody back to normal. "Web Of The Spider Creature" MOM, who is posing as a biology teacher, has disappeared from Torrington along with several other teachers. Martin, Diana and Java find her floating upside down in a transparent coccoon (brief shot) in the basement of the previous biology teacher who resents his manadatory retirement and has decided to get even with his former colleagues and replacement by genetically fused himself with a "Spitting Spider". Transforming into his spider form he snags Diana with a web thread and pulls her towards him and qucikly coccoons her. After a fight scene where Martin triumphs we cut back to the basement after a Canter team has already freed MOM and Diana. Mary-Kate and Ashley IN ACTION! (that is the real name, complete with CAPS and exclamation point!) * Mr Irony ** Biff Barksdale > Today's episode of the Olsen Twins' animated series, Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action, had the two girls investigating a sinister French fashion magnate using mind control chemicals in her cosmetics. The twins are captured and tied to make-up chairs with large red ribbons around their wrists, legs, and torsos. The villianess applies the sinister cosmetics to their faces but once she leaves the room the two girls easily break free of their restraints and reveal that they've been wearing face guards to protect themselves. A fairly long scene. >> In the episode "Puppy Love", around 23 minutes in, the girls are seen seated on the floor tied back-to-back while the villain explained his brilliant and foolproof plan to them... which was foiled shortly after. They were tied with their arms behind their backs tied to each other, and each other's arms. (hard to describe but cool looking) Their exaggeratedly adorable dog freed them with his teeth. [Those extra details were added to the description by me, rather than by Biff, since I viewed the pictures he took of the scene.] A better way to describe how they were tied, is wrists behind, but the rope appears to connect each other's wrists. In the episode "In a Lather", the girls turn the tables this episode, posing as spa staff and wrapping Renee La Rouge in vines as a "beauty treatment" while they snoop around. I believe this occurs about 17 minutes in, but I'm not certain. It's a relatively short scene. In the episode "Bug Off!", around the 17' mark, the girls are bound with what might be stout two-tone climbing rope, wearing safari ensembles. They are seated on the floor, wrists bound behind backs, bonds secured around ankles, knees and arms. They are hoisted by metal tentacles through a panel in the roof of the jungle headquarters of their recurring antagonist, Fritz Doberman, and deposited in a treehouse. Shortly after, ads ensue, and upon return they quickly free themselves with an assist from their canine companion. About three minutes from stem to stern, break included, in the airing I caught. In the episode "Rave Reviews", the three members of the Butterfly Girls band have been kidnapped, and are seen around the 17' mark cuffed hand and foot to their instruments, wrists behind. The scene ends about five minutes later, although they remain tethered while they play in a trailer, as their captors pretend to perform on stage in a band contest. The Mask * Terakonn *Anti Trooper > Two episodes of the Mask had some quick, but standout scenes. In "You Oughta Be In Pictures", involving an Arnold Shwartzenegger clone, The hero's girlfriend is shown tied to a chair & gagged, for about 3 seconds. The other episode, title unknown, involves a female magician in a Zatanna-type outfit, complete with fishnet hose. Near the end of the episode, the Mask pulls her out of a magician's tophat, wrapped in a straitjacket, with chains wrapped around her upper legs. She struggles, & cries "No fair!", & is taken away by the police, but uses an magician's trick to escape. Max Steel * Biff Barksdale > In the episode "Deep Cover", Kat has discovered that some skateboarders who work for Luke DeMarco (Psycho in disguise) are taking an illegal drug, so she infiltrates DeMarco's hideout. Once in, DeMarco either handgags or chloroforms her. This occurs about 16 minutes in and is a very brief scene. During the skateboard race, Max and 'Berto receive a homing signal from Kat, which leads them to a limo. Max approaches it on his board, jumps on top, and finds that it's remote-controlled. He also finds Kat in the back, her hands tied behind her (feet possibly bound as well) and tapegagged. As the limo speeds toward a cliff, Max tears the roof open and frees her. This scene comes in around 21 minutes in, and lasts less than half a minute. Medabots * Biff Barksdale > In the episode "Legendary Medafighter", redhaired schoolgirl (and ep title character) Karen is bound with rope around her arms and torso around 25 minutes in. There are several shots of her predicament lasting over the next minute or so. In the episode "The Gimme Ghost", Erika and Karen are captured by medal thieves. They're shown bound and overgagged, ropes pinning their arms to the sides, but it's not easy to tell, as the scene consists exclusively of closeups. This happens around 18 minutes in, and they're freed about a minute and a half later. In the episode "For Better, For Worse" Part 2, about halfway in, Karen, Erika and Ikki are captured by the Rubber Robo Gang yet again, as are Samantha and her flunkies. Ropes around the various torsi. Phantom Renegade makes an appearance, and everyone's soon released. The whole scene ends around 20 minutes in. In the episode "I Dream of Hushi", Ainsley is bound wrists behind her, sitting on the floor, to a post in her home by Rubber Robo Gang members, who are after what they believe is a valuable medal. The scene is rather brief, and comes in around 20 minutes in. In the episode "Dude, Where's My Ma?", Ikki's mom (Hidori [?] Tenrio) has been grabbed by the Rubberobo Gang. She's shown bound in a chair, her arms and torso wrapped in rope, about two minutes in, lasting until around the five-minute mark. In the episode "Welcome to Ninja World", Erika and Ikki visit the Ninja World amusement park. About two minutes in, there's a scene involving a stage show in which a girl and boy, along with the female presenter, are seated bound on the floor to be "rescued" by medabots. The presenter's arms are bound to her sides, but one arm is periodically free as she brings the mic to her face. Around ten minutes in, the bickering Erika and Ikki are plucked from the audience. Their arms are bound behind them, and the presenter is bound as before. This time the Rubberobo Gang shows up and grabs the pair. Seems they've taken control of the 'bots in the show... Well, to finish up, the two work their bonds off and escape about 16 minutes in. In the episode "There's Something About Miss Mimosa", about 19 minutes in, Miss Mimosa is enwrapped in the tendrils of a lovesick flower Medabot, and then whisked off. She's bound from her shoulders to her hips during the lengthy sequence. In the episode "The French Deception", about eleven minutes in, Karen is shown bound and being carried off. Shortly after, a tapegag has been applied, with her now seated on the floor of a warehouse. There are several shots over the next ten minutes or so before she's rescued. Megas XLR * Grimbor > "DMV - Department of Megas Violations" Thanks to Coop distracting her at a critical moment Kiva is KOed by a female alien (sort of predator-lite) bounty hunter and mind thief looking to drain her brain. When she wakes up she's kneeling with her hands locked behind her and tethered in place by a collar with cables in front and back that attach to the floor of the alien's riding platform on top of a giant monster. Fortunately Megas damages the collar the monster is wearing and it turns out to be an intelligent being enslaved by the mind controller the hunter put in the collar. It frees Kiva and takes the hunter home to stand trial and during the end credits she's seen in an orange prisoner uniform forced to pick up litter while Kiva, Coop, Jamie and the giant monster deliberately drop paper. "Battle Royale" During Jamie's "King of Planet Of the Space Amazons" daydream we see Kiva wearing a thick metal collar with chains from it to her wrists forced to serve Jamie his lunch. A daydream that doesn't work out in reality as the real space amazons don't declare him their king and just slap Jamie for bothering them. "S-Force S.O.S." At the beginning of the show Duchess and all the male members of S-Force (except Jax, the Keyop clone from this G-Force parody) are kneeling with their hands bound behind them by energy cuffs while ZArek (a Zoltar lookalike) does the "no one can save you now!" routine. About 10 minutes in we see the team again on a high platform in the same predicament as Zarek taunts Duchess about the agony that awaits after being thrown into the Infinity Zone which seems to happen to S-Force's leader. After a commercial break and a dramatic entrance by Megas,Duchess and the rest of S-Force are freed off-camera when Jax knocks out the guards. Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team * Biff Barksdale > In the episode "Front Line", Gineas has drugged and bound Yuri's secretary Cynthia. I saw a couple of shots of her slumped in a chair, bound above and below her chest with wrists behind but unseen. There might have been more earlier. As I recall, this occured about halfway through the episode. Mon Colle Knights * Grimbor > "These Boots Were Made For Flying" The Rocket Ribbon Attack ties both the bad girls and their somewhat effeminate boss together by wrapping them together from waist to torso. Attempts at coordinated walking don't work out and they keep falling facefirst into the ground (except for the girl with the glasses) until a badly aimed lightning attack zaps both them, their mecha and the Mon Colle Knights and burns off the ribbon. "Pork Bellies and New Beginnings" The Mon Colle Knights face a choice of surrender to the Count and his Pig monsters or watch his badgirl sidekicks (Batch the Tomboy & Gluko the idiot) shove the Elf King off their hovering mecha. Being heroes they surrender and Rockna Hiragi is next seen tied to her boyfriend Mondo by ropes around their waists and torsos while standing next to the Elf King. Luckily the Elf King's sorceress teleports them all to safety during which the ropes disappear. "The Last Monster Item" As the series moves towards a climax it turns a lot most serious. Two episodes earlier Rockna was abducted by the big boss badguy Reta and kept inside an invisible forcefield in his castle. After the lethal fake Rockna that Reta sicced on them is destroyed the good guys see the real Rockna hanging from the neck of the Great Red Dragon by tendrils of black goo. Then the tendrils retract and Rockna is absorbed into the dragon's body. After that she's seen stuck in a small abcess in the dragon's neck. She's trapped but unbound until Mondo and Gabriolis rescue her. Monster Rancher * Biff Barksdale ** psdcgame > In the episode "Eternal Worm", around the 20' mark, Holly is restrained with a whip, then bound arms-to-sides with vines. Holly is briefly wrapped up with gel from some sort of blue slime monsters, pinning her arms together and covering her mouth, in the episode "My Name is Pixie". In the episode "Holly's Rescue", Holly is held in the grip of the giant hand of the monster Moo. It happens about halfway through the episode. In the episode "Great Battle at Sea", Holly's briefly held in the massive grip of some whalelike monster in the last ten minutes. Her arms are pinned to her sides. In "Don't Give Up, Ducken!", Holly and the gang are captured by Mocks, living tree trunks with branches for arms. After nearly getting captured by a Mock about to grab her during an early fight (around the 8' mark), Holly is later shown seated with a Mock's branches crossed in front of her, pinning her arms to her sides. We see this several times until close to the end. In the episode "Holly's Million-Gold Smile", around 20 minutes in, Holly very briefly has her mouth covered by a Blue Jell, then is buried to her neck in the sand to await the incoming tide. >> In the episode "Baby Bossy" Holly is captured by monkey monsters called apes. They tie her to a tree with her arms tied behind her separately, vines wrapped around her midsection and legs. She is later freed by the team when the apes start fighting stone apes. Mummies Alive! Another weird one: Female mummy tied up, hands behind back, and gagged. Nice struggling, but... it's a MUMMY! In one episode, though, a human girl (who kept referring to herself as a 7th grade reporter) is captured by evil characters and tied to a pole, arms wrapped at sides, hands behind back (and pole). Several views from different sides, as there is fighting going on around her. The first time she asks to be untied, she isn't right away, because more fighting ensues. Kinda nice. Also, her hands were crossed. PS, this girl is annoying. When she was tied up, she wasn't annoying.
